The inaugural EGCA European Cup tournament is intended for clubs that participated in the EGCA Champions League 2025 qualification stages in Peterborough, Rostock, and Podgorica but did not manage to secure a spot in the Champions League Final Stage.
This tournament will be held on one of the following weekends:
- 27th – 30th February 2025
- 4th – 7th December 2025
- 11th – 14th December 2025
A total of 10 teams will be accepted based on ranking order, except for the host team, which is automatically included in the tournament. The ranking order is listed below.

We are looking for unqualified clubs to host the tournament between 3rd April – 16th May 2025. The EGCA Competition Committee will decide on the host and the tournament date no later than 30th May.

PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE & PLAY SYSTEM
The tournament arrival day is Thursday. Games will be played on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with Sunday also being the departure day.
Teams will be divided into two five-team preliminary groups based on their ranking positions after Champions League 2025 qualification stages.
-The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals and medal matches.
- The third-place teams from each group will play for 5th-6th place.
- The fourth-place teams will compete for 7th-8th place.
- The fifth-place teams will face off for 9th-10th place.
PARTICIPATION FEE
The participation fee for the tournament is €270 per person, which includes:
- Right to participate in the tournament
- Transfers between the airport and the hotel
- Transfers between the hotel and the sports hall
- Hotel accommodation in double or triple rooms (single rooms available for an extra fee)
- Meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) from Thursday dinner to Sunday lunch

ATHLETE RULES IN THE TOURNAMENT
(1) All the clubs who have taken part in the Champions League qualification stages and not qualified to the Final Stage have a chance to apply for the EGCA European Cup. EGCA Competition Committee will make a ranking of the clubs after the qualification stages and in this order the clubs will be invited to the European Cup tournament;
(2) A team must name minimum 4 and can name maximum 6 athletes to its squad at the EGCA European Cup;
(3) All the athletes who have participated at he qualification stage of the Champions League and their team didn’t qualify to the Final Stage are eligible to participate this cup tournament but they must represent the same club than in the Champions League;
(4) Only an athlete who has participated at the Final Stage of the Champions League is not eligible to play in the European Cup;
(5) Unclassified athletes (also sighted) are allowed in the European Cup;
(6) A club can use a maximum of one foreign player for each EGCA European Cup. This foreign player can also come from outside of Europe.
(7) An athlete is not considered a foreign player if one of the following criteria is met:
A. The athlete has the same nationality as the country from which the club originates.
B. The athlete permanently resides in the same country as the club.
Attention: In unclear situations, EGCA may ask the athlete to provide proof of residence.
C. The athlete has participated with the club in the national goalball league or championship competitions for the last two consecutive seasons.
Attention: In unclear situations, EGCA may request confirmation from the national goalball federation.
D. The athlete has participated with the club in EGCA competitions for the last two consecutive seasons.
(8) If the athlete has represente other club in Grand Prix, Youth Championships or Women’s Champions League the athlete can Still participate in the EGCA European Cup.
(8) Failure to comply with registration rules results in a 10-0 loss in the game.
