European Grand Prix 2023 tour will continue in Utrecht, Netherlands on 23rd – 25th June. This is the first time that EGCA competition will be held in the Netherlands.

The tournament is organized by the multisport club USV Hercules (founded 1882) which has over 2500 members. USV Hercules was the winner of the first ever European Grand Prix tournament in Rostock, Germany in May 2021. The tournament will be played at the USV Hercules Pavilion (address: Voorveldselaan 2, 3573 PV Utrecht) Teams and referees will be accommodated at the Hotel Mitland (website: www.mitland.nl).

TEAMS & OFFICIALS

There are five participating clubs in the tournament: e.V. Greifswalder Hechte (GER), Nimgo (NED), Pancyprian Organization Of The Blind (CYP), RGC Hansa (GER), USV Hercules (NED). This is the first time that Cyprian team takes part in goalball tournament on international level.

PLAY SYSTEM

Teams will play a single round robin and the 1st team of the round robin will be qualified straight to the gold medal game of the tournament.

2nd and 3rd ranked teams of the round robin will play in the semifinal game; a winner of the semifinal game will play in the gold medal game of the tournament and a loser will perform in the bronze medal game. There is also a placement game for 4th and 5th ranked teams of the round robin; a winner of this game will play in the bronze medal game and a loser will be ranked at 5th place in the tournament.
