The 13th edition of the EGCA Champions League will be played during year 2027. EGCA Champions League 2027 season is managed by the EGCA Competition Committee in cooperation with the organizing clubs.

The registration runs from 4th September to 30th November 2026. Below you can find the club & athlete regulations.
PARTICIPATION FEE
Participation fee / person at the Qualification Stage will be 280 € which includes local transportation between the airport and the hotel / venue as well as between the hotel and the venue (if walking distance is over 1 kilometer), meals; breakfast, lunch and dinner from Thursday dinner to Sunday lunch, hotel accommodation in twin or triple rooms and licence fee 10 € / person. The participation fee / person at the Final Stage is 370 € / person. There is also a light package for the Qualification & Final Stage. For Qualification Stage the light package is 115 € / person which includes airport transportation, lunch during the competition days and the licence fee 10 € / person. At the Final Stage the light package fee is 150 € / person.
QUALIFICATION STAGES 2027
There are 3 Qualification Stages during the EGCA – Champions League 2027 Season:
- Rostock Qualification Stage: 18th – 21st February 2027, Rostock, Germany head-organized by RGC Hansa Rostock
- Vila do Conde Qualification Stage: 25th – 28th February 2027, Vila do Conde, Portugal head-organized Castélo da Maia GC
- Bursa Qualification Stage: 25th – 28th March 2027, Bursa, Türkiye, head-organized by Nilüfer Buges
There are maximum 8 participating clubs / a qualification stage. The top three teams from each Qualification Stage secure their place in the season-closing Final Stage. Teams eliminated from the Final Stage will still have the opportunity to compete in the EGCA European Cup, held at the end of the year.
FINAL STAGE 2027
EGCA – Champions League 2027 Season will be culminated at the Final Stage that will take Place in Espoo, Finland from 15th to 19th September 2027. There are 10 participating clubs at the Final Stage: the host club Old Power and the Top 3 clubs of each qualification stage. Top 3 clubs of the Final Stage in Espoo will represent Europe at the Goalball Clubs World Cup 2028.
WOMEN’S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2027
EGCA Women’s Champions League 2027 will take Place in Antalya, Türkiye between 22nd – 26th September 2027. Registration for this tournament will begin during the first quarter of 2027. You can find more information about the Women’s Champions League here

CLUB & ATHLETE REGULATIONS
Club regulations
(1) Clubs must register their teams and players according to the registration regulations that can be found on this page.
(2) Each registered club must be a real club that takes part in their national league / championships. A brand-new club can apply for a special exemption from the EGCA Competition Committee to participate in the Champions League or Women’s Champions League. However, the club must be officially registered; it cannot simply be a team of friends put together specifically for a particular tournament.
(3) Each club, who wants to take part in the EGCA competitions must be an EGCA member
(4) There are maximum 8 participating clubs at one qualification stage in following order:
a) Organizing club of the stage
b) The champions of national league / championships from each country in Europe. Multinational goalball leagues may also be accepted, provided that they have applied for a special exemption from the EGCA Competition Committee. We use order which is the position of the clubs in the Champions League Ranking. If there are two or more clubs who are not part in the Champions League Ranking, decisive criteria is the ranking of country in European Championships (the highest ranked country first). Also the winner of the European Cup is in this category. Attention: We will take into account the goalball leagues & Championships which have been played completely until 22nd November 2026;
c) Clubs according their position in the Champions League Ranking. You can find the current ranking here
d) If there are still free spots at some stage, a place will be given in order for a club who comes from a country that has own national league / championships and the highest position in European Championships
e) There can be maximum 2 clubs from the same country at one qualification stage
(5) Current ranking in Europe (1st September 2026): Türkiye, Ukraine, Germany, Israel, Finland, Poland, Montenegro, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Sweden, Spain, Lithuania, Portugal, Great Britain, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Serbia. All the other countries are equal situation in the ranking, the first registered club will be first served. Clubs from Russia and Belarus are suspended from the EGCA competitions.
Athlete rules
(1) A team can name maximum 10 athletes in its squad during EGCA Champions League 2027 season (qualification stage + final stage). The line-up must be informed by a team no later than 30 days before the start of a qualification stage or the Final Stage. For Women´s Champions League, this has to be done 30 days before the tournament starts. The roster has to be registered with EGCA using an official form or online system.
(2) An athlete can represent only one club during a Champions League season except female athletes who can play for one club in the Champions League and for another in the Women’s Champions League.
(3) There must be always minimum 4 and maximum 6 registered athletes / team at a Champions League or Women’s Champions League stage.
(4) There must be always a minimum one IBSA classified athlete in a squad of a team at a Champions League / Women’s Champions League stage.
(5) Unclassified athletes (also sighted) athletes are eligible in the Champions League / Women’s Champions League.
(6) A club must always have local athletes in its line-up for the EGCA Champions League or Women’s Champions League stage. A local athlete is a player who has played for the club’s team during the last two national league seasons (the current season counts) or in the last two consecutive national championships (the current year counts) or in the last three consecutive years in EGCA competitions (current year counts). In cases of serious injury, where, for example, a player has been forced to miss an entire season, the club may apply to the EGCA Competition Committee for a special exemption allowing the player to obtain local athlete status.
(7) If a team registers 6 athletes in its line-up for the EGCA Champions League or Women’s Champions League stage, four of these athletes must be local athletes; if the team registers 5 athletes, three must be local; and if the team registers 4 athletes, three must be local. The nationality of the athlete does not matter, as long as the athlete meets the above-mentioned local player criteria. This rule also applies to athletes who come from the same country as the club.
(8) Subject to the minimum local-athlete requirements in paragraph (7), a club may register EU citizens who do not meet the local-athlete criteria.
(9) Subject to the minimum local-athlete requirements in paragraph (7), a club may register a maximum of one non-EU citizen who does not meet the local-athlete criteria.
(10) A female athlete can take part in the Champions League and it will not prevent them to take part inWomen’s Champions League, Youth Championships or EGCA Grand Prix tournaments. A female athlete can also represent another club in another competition like one in the Champions League and another in the EGCA Grand Prix.
(11) A U23 male athlete can take part in the Champions League and Youth Championships during the same year. A youth athlete can also represent one club in the Champions League and another at the EGCA Youth Championships.
(12) A male athlete who has taken part of the Champions League can’t play the EGCA Grand Prix during the same year except U20 athletes.
(13) An athlete who has participated in the Champions League qualification stage but whose team has not advanced to the Final Stage, can take part in the EGCA European Cup representing the same team as in the Champions League qualification stage.
(14) Failure to comply with registration rules results in a 10-0 loss in the game.
