PARTICIPATING CLUBS & PLAY SYSTEM
Line-ups of the participating clubs are available here
There are 8 participating clubs in the tournament and they are divided in two groups:
Group A: Golden Feathers (POR), Birmingham GC (GBR), Aragon (SPA), Old Power (FIN)
Group B: CA Cultural (POR), Aisti Sport (FIN), USV Hercules (NED), BSI (DEN)
Teams will play a single round robin in the groups and Top 2 teams of both groups will continue to the semifinal & medal games. 3rd teams of the groups will play for places 5-6 and 4th teams of the groups for places 7-8 in the tournament.
The 1st team of Group A will take on the 2nd team of the Group B and the 1st team of Group B will take on the 2nd team of Group A in the semifinal games. Winners of the semifinals will meet in the gold medal game and losers in the bronze medal game.
Teams will earn 3 points from a victory, 1 point from a tie and 0 points from a loss in the group matches.
The ranking of teams in the group stage will be determined by the IBSA rule 49:
– Goal Difference – subtracting a team’s goals scored against from their goals scored in the total round robin
– Number of Wins – teams will be assessed on the number of wins in the round robin. Teams with the most wins will be given the higher ranking.
– Goals Against – the team with the lowest goals against in the overall competition will be given the higher ranking.
– Goal Difference – The same procedure shall be used again, but this time only the games in the round robin between the teams that have to be separated shall be included.
– In the event that a tie occurs between more than two teams, the above criteria will be used, in order, until one team has been separated.
